Young ‘leaders’ to gather on July 1

Unity, faith, discipline is the theme of this year’s YLC.

KARACHI:

The School of Leadership will start its annual Young Leaders Conference from July 1 in Karachi, with former champions leading it. This year’s theme is unity, faith, discipline.

Young adults with an interest in government reforms, the environment, intercultural harmony, international economics and political leadership will be able to take part.

The School of Leaders CEO Shireen Naqvi said at a press conference, “We want to bring a revolution of peace and love in the country and the revolution has already started.”

She said that Pakistanis have immense potential but because we are not united, we cannot utilise and benefit from our resources and capabilities. “We can achieve absolutely anything if we unite as a country.”

Last year, around 48 boys and girls from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Fata and 37 from Quetta participated and are now associated with their youth organisations, she said. Former YLC champion Bilal Nazar, who is one of the people leading it this year, said the conference aims to make young adults “realise their potential and to explore a new world of opportunities”.

According to Maalik Khaskhely, another former champion, his six days in YLC gave him the courage to speak for what is right.

The conference will start from July 1 and will last till July 6. Participants will interact and network with leading personalities. More than 50 experts, gurus and specialists from Pakistan and abroad will be part of the programme.
