ISLAMABAD:
Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Minister of State Marriyum Aurangzeb reacted to the speech Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan made in Buner on Sunday.

Khan had called Premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi a puppet prime minister, to which Marriyam replied that since he was a puppet in front of an umpire’s finger, he thinks everyone is the same.

Marriyum Aurangzeb criticises PTI policies in K-P

The minister, in a statement issued on Sunday, wondered as to how a person who was responsible for inculcating negative behaviour like impertinence, depravity and insolence in society could have the audacity to talk about morals?

She said that Imran was mentally deranged and was obsessed with the notion that only people joining PTI could be deemed sadiq and ameen.

Marriyam said that it was unbecoming of Khan to talk about respecting state institutions and that before indulging in such rhetoric he should first clear his status as a proclaimed offender in court. She said that Khan indulged in money laundering using zakat funds and was not prepared to answer questions related to party funding but was pointing fingers at those who were accountable for each penny.

Ministers hit out at Imran Khan for ‘persistent lies’

The minister said that Nawaz Sharif, his late father and his family have all been accountable for what they have done. She added that Nawaz had also worked for the development of the country while his opponents have only been serving their own disruptive agendas.

Marriyum pointed out that during the last four years, Khan has only organized sit-ins, spread chaos in the country, resorted to disruptive politics and denigrated state institutions. The PTI government has done nothing but waste four years in the lives of the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). She alleged that even though Khan could take time out to relax at Nathia Gali, he could not ensure appropriate measures to control dengue in K-P.

The minister said that during the 2018 elections, people would hold him accountable for what he has been doing. She said that the workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz would make K-P their citadel, when it forms a government there in 2018.
