Local govt ordinance: 427 posts abolished after amendment

The Punjab government abolished 427 posts of executive district officer, district officer revenue and deputy district officers after amendment in the local government ordinance.

A notification has been issued in this regard and its copies have been sent to all provincial departments.

Under the amendment, the provincial government has also decided to create 327 new posts  of additional commissioners,  additional collectors, assistant commissioners and sub-registrars.

Moreover, from now on only the board of revenue will handle issues relating to revenue.
