Vivo officially enters Pakistan with V7+ launch

Another player entered the Pakistani smartphone market as Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo on Wednesday officially launched its brand in the country.

The company unveiled its flagship device Vivo V7 Plus at an event in Lahore.

Vivo’s latest flagship device is a near 6-inch phablet with narrow bezels and a FullView display with 84.4% screen to body ratio. The device is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 along with 4GB RAM, 64GB of internal storage with the option of an expandable memory of up to 256GB via microSD card.

VIVO among top five smartphone brands

V7 Plus is equipped with a 24-megapixel front camera with group selfie and portrait mode along with a 16-megapixel rear camera. Vivo’s latest flagship device runs on customised Funtouch OS 3.2 which is based on Android's Nougat 7.1.

The device will retail for Rs 35,999.




In a bid to capture the local market, chief executive officer of Vivo Pakistan Eric Kong revealed that the company plans to invest a start-up capital of $30 million in the country.

“In 2017, a start-up capital of 30 million USD will be invested in Pakistan Market both online and offline,” Kong stated.

“Pakistan is a market with incredible potential. Vivo aims at becoming the industry-leader and a well-known smartphone brand in Pakistan.”

Vivo, one of the better known Chinese smartphone maker, already operates in multiple international markets including China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Russia with over 80 million sales in the year 2016.
