A man committed suicide over domestic issues in Shahpur police limits on Monday.

Police said that Muhammad Hanif, a resident of Naseem Colony, Shahpur Tehsil, had an argument with his family members over a domestic issue. As the arguments escalated, he consumed poisonous pills and ended his life. The body was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital for legal formalities.

Meanwhile, two people were killed in different incidents in Jhal Chakian and Shahpur police limits. The police said that Zakir, a resident of Chak No 82-NB, had an enmity with Imtiaz over litigation of a murder case. On the day of the incident, accused Zakir and his accomplice Mubashir opened fire on Imtiaz, killing him on the spot.


In another incident, a woman was gunned down in Aqil Shah Village. The police have registered a case and started investigation. The police claimed to have arrested 26 drug peddlers and seized narcotics and illegal weapons from them.

The police said the teams of different police stations conducted raids and arrested 26 criminals. At least 3.585 kilogrammes of hashish, 780 bottles of liquor, nine pistols, two guns, two rifles and rounds were confiscated from them.

The accused were identified as Zafar Iqbal, Faheem Shahzad, Azhar Abbas, Awais,Bashir Hussain, Qamar Hayat, Rab Nawaz, Javed, Irfan, Khadim Hussain, and others. Cases have been registered against the accused.
