‘Target killer’ held

Sindh police claimed to have arrested a man suspected of being involved in six target killings.

KARACHI:
Late Sunday night, the Sindh police claimed to have arrested a man suspected of being involved in six target killings.

The accused, Waqas Ahmed, was arrested after an encounter in Khwaja Ajmer Nagri police limits. Police officials said that during initial interrogation, Waqas confessed to have murdered six activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Orangi Town and Mahmoodabad. Waqas is affiliated with the Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi, according to SP Malik Zafar Iqbal.


Two Tula-Tokarev pistols were seized from Waqas’s possession and further raids to arrest his associates are under way, he added.
