Football: Sidwell pens Fulham extension

Fulham announced that English central midfielder Steve Sidwell has extended his contract.

LONDON:
Fulham announced that English central midfielder Steve Sidwell has extended his contract with the club until 2014.

Sidwell came through the youth ranks at Arsenal but made his name with Reading following their promotion to the Premier League in 2006. He joined Chelsea in 2007 but failed to impress and moved to Aston Villa a year later. He was at Villa for three years without ever managing to nail down a first-team place, prompting him to return to London with Fulham in January.
