QWP chairman wants assemblies to complete their term

Qaumi Watan Party (QWO) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has said that some political parties want tussle between state institutions – something that would weaken the state.
Addressing a gathering at Amir Abad Tangi on Friday, Sherpao rejected the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demand for early elections and for dissolving assemblies.

“To strengthen democracy in the country, assemblies should complete their tenure,” he said, adding that any such move might harm the state.
Sherpao, whose QWP has recently been ousted by the PTI from the coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), said that like Nawaz Sharif, Imran would also be disqualified for failing to give details of his assets.

He said the Panamagate issue had already wasted government’s time affecting the economic development in K-P and “the issue should now be ended”.
The QWP chief said the PTI-led K-P government had badly failed, and because of its poor performance in the province, Imran Khan’s party would suffer harsh defeat in the next general election.

He said that after ousting the prime minister from parliament, the PTI now wanted the opposition leader also ousted, for its vested interest.
“Division in the opposition ranks will benefit the treasury benches, instead of strengthening the opposition,” said Sherpao.
QWP Provincial President Sikandar Khan Sherpao and other senior leaders of the party also addressed the gathering and criticised the PTI-led government which, according to them, had failed to deliver.
