Islamabad Police arrest five for supplying drugs on campuses
SSP urges people to inform police via social media cell about drug pushers
ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad police on Friday caught five drug pushers, who were involved in supplying drugs to educational institutions and recovered hashish, heroin, methamphetamines and tranquilisers from them, a police spokesman said.
According to a statement a team led by SHO Shalimar Inspector MuneerJafferi arrested five drug pushers allegedly involved in supplying drug to students.
They have been identified as Adeel Arshad, Sohail Azhar, Sanwal, Azmat, Farooq Masih. Police have recovered a total of 8.9 kilogrammes of hashish, 200 grammes of heroin, 50 grammes of ice and some tranquilising pills from them.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Sajid Kiani has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to remain vigilant in their respective areas and ensure arrest of those involved in ugly business of selling drugs to youth.
SSP Kiani has said that such elements would not to be tolerated anywhere and appealed to citizens to inform social media cell of Islamabad police in case of any such activities around them.
He said name of informer would be kept secret. Meanwhile, Shalimar police arrested Zaka and Nigerian national Nkem Chiemeka Heart for their involvement in fraudulent activities through social media.
Separately, Ramana police also arrested a proclaimed offender Ali Abbass who was wanted to police for involvement in a murder case. One 30bore pistol and 18 bullets were also recovered from him.
