‘Govt spending huge funds on modernising road networks’

This would enable decent road network connectivity throughout the province, said minister

BAHAWALPUR:
Provincial Minister for Cooperatives Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has said the Punjab government has allocated a massive development fund to the tune of Rs 90 billion and Rs700 million would be spent on modernizing road infrastructure by undertaking 2,651 road network projects throughout the province.

This would accelerate the pace of road modernisation process to enable decent road network connectivity throughout the province. He made these remarks while talking to a delegation of PML-N workers on Friday.

"Out of 2,651 total quantum of road network expansion and modernising initiative, 1,943 new schemes would be completed by spending Rs45 billion and Rs347 million while a total sum of Rs45 billion and Rs352 million have been earmarked for 708 road development schemes,” the minister said.
