A civilian was martyred along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday, taking the death toll from India’s ceasefire violations along the LoC and the Working Boundary (WB) to eight in the last two weeks.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian military used heavy weaponry including mortars in blatant violation of ceasefire in Nikyal sector along the LoC, targeting innocent civilian population.
Pakistan Army befittingly responded to the firing which has reportedly resulted in heavy material loss and casualties on the other side of the border.

The deceased was identified as 22-year-old Muhammad Raziq whereas the injured include Irum Kauser, Ghulam Fatima, Kalsoom Begum and 14-year-old Ahsan Kareem.
In 2017 to date, Indian forces have carried out more than 872 ceasefire violations along the LoC and the WB, resulting in the killing of 40 innocent civilians and injuries to 148, as compared to 382 ceasefire violations in 2016, according to the Foreign Ministry figures.
