University of Sindh: ‘Curb campus violence’
The conference was organised by the management of Sindh University after a clash claimed the life of Rameez Solangi.
HYDERABAD:
The elimination of campus violence at the University of Sindh was agreed to by participants of the ‘Save Education for Future of Sindh’ conference.
Broad parameters to tackle this problem, which has constantly disrupted classes and other academic activities, were agreed by all stakeholders.
The conference was organised by the management of the Sindh University after a clash that claimed the life of Rameez Solangi.
Participants included political leaders, scholars, educational experts, social activists and faculty heads.
A ten-member consultative committee was constituted which would put forward recommendations to improve campus life and increase academic activities.
To facilitate the demands of students, unions would be revived and any political interference would be halted, according to a statement issued.
The university would also promote transparency in admissions and incorporate the opinions of students in all major decisions affecting the university.
