Ace designer and RJ, Munib Nawaz takes time out to play a round of our Toss Up. From what makes him tick, to whichTV show he would love to be trapped in, we find out everything there is to know about him
What is the best part about being on the radio?
Playing music and sharing my experience about the artist and the song.
Have you ever dealt with an obsessive fan or a caller?
Not on radio but otherwise once. It’s cute when someone takes out that much time from their lives for you.
Do you ever fear running out of things to say on air?
I seldom run out of things to say. I read a lot so I have ample thoughts to share with my listeners.
Being a radio jockey, how fulfilling is it as a profession?
Hosting is a great profession if someone takes it rather seriously. We now have some really well respected radio presenters. I just host once a week so it’s hardly a profession for me.
Which famous person would make the worst caller on a radio show?
I don’t know. Anybody who is a Mr know it all. Since there are a lot of memes about Sahir Lodhi these days, I think it would be him. Just kidding. He’s a smart man.
If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive who would it be and what would you say to them?
Oh that’s a looong list. Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Nelson Mandela, Jinnah, our Prophet (PBHU), Buddha and so on, I’d love to ask them all what keeps you going and how do you keep going?
Something or someone you miss the most from childhood?
The simpler things, less technology more human interaction.
Name three things in nature you find most beautiful?
Trees, the ocean and the moon.
The worst punishment you received as a child?
I was never really punished; we were always made to feel responsible for our actions, and that’s what I am trying to inculcate in my children.
What would be harder for you, to tell someone you love them or that you don’t love them back?
That I may not love them back.
Something you really regret?
Listening to people who pretended to have my back but all they really wanted to do was take me for a ride.
Which is your favourite part of the human face and why?
Eyes and nose as it has a lot to do with shaping someone’s face, but mostly eyes.
If you could do anything OR wish for anything that would come true, what would you wish for?
I’d wish for humans to live in peace and harmony so that we could help each other grow.
If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, who would it be?
Probably Iron Man.
If you would be a superhero, what would you want your superpowers to be?
Attracting metal so I could melt all the weapons and healing, if I could be given two.
What was the weirdest prank call that you have made?
Probably none, but I sure have received several funny ones.
What is the strangest thing you have eaten?
Probably escargots, I like to keep my food sane.
If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which would you choose?
X Files, Friends or Sex and the City.
