Kulsoom Nawaz undergoes 'third operation' for lymphoma in London

Former first lady Kulsoom Nawaz, who's suffering from lymphoma, underwent on Thursday another operation, her daughter Maryam Nawaz said.

"Ami just came out of ICU. She was operated upon yesterday," Maryam tweeted. "Recovering Alhamdolillah. Jazak'Allah for your prayers."

Reports suggested this was Kulsoom's third and more comprehensive operation.

The wife of deposed PM Nawaz Sharif, who won the NA-120 by-poll on Sunday, was diagnosed with blood cancer last month. The seat had fallen vacant after Nawaz's disqualification by the top court in a landmark judgement in the Panama Papers case on July 28.
