International experts will gather in Lahore at the end of next month to deliberate on the importance of archaeology and heritage as an essential component for preserving national identity and bringing prosperity in any country.

International conference on "Archaeology Heritage of Pakistan-Challenges, Potential and Way forward" will be held in the city from October 20-22. The event is being co-organised by Higher Education Commission, National History and Literary Heritage Division, UNESCO, Embassy of France in Pakistan, British Council, and Walled City of Lahore Authority. The aim of the conference is to sensitise decision makers, educationists, bureaucrats and politicians on the fact that archaeology must be given due importance.
