A digitally personalised version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory was launched by Wonderbly in collaboration with Roald Dahl Estates.

Simon & Schuster's Salaam Reads publishes Muslim children's book

The London-based publisher has created a visual treat for readers in My Golden Ticket; A Journey through Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory – a simplified account of the original story by Roald Dahl. Every book is personalised with the child’s name scrolled into Oompa Loompa rhymes and character plots.



“This is by far the most ambitious book that we have ever published. It’s everything that we have learnt in the past three years on personalisation technology” Asi Sharabi, the co-founder and CEO of Wonderbly, told Wire. “It’s the first time that we are collaborating with a third party, which is part of our longer term vision to play more of a publishing game.”

“If Wonka himself were to make books, we believe he would have injected Wonderbly’s inventive formula,” said Luke Kelly, Dahl’s grandson.

Wonderbly, through this project, aims to take every child on a custom-made adventure into the world of Willy Wonka.  “This book gives every child a unique adventure in Willy Wonka’s factory,” the website describes Wonderbly’s latest project. “They’ll explore wondrous new rooms and uncover their own delicious secrets.”
