Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa CM demands end to drone strikes
Ameer Haider Khan Hoti demands an end to drone strikes in tribal areas of the country.
PESHAWAR:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Saturday demanded an end to drone strikes in tribal areas of the country.
Hoti said the drone strikes were an attack on the country’s sovereignty, adding that something should be done for K-P’s inhabitants, who have paid a huge price due to the war on terror.
Hoti’s statement came in the wake of an uproar over a drone attack that killed at least seven people in South Waziristan, a day after CIA Chief Leon Panetta and ISI Chief Shuja Pasha had a meeting in the US.
“The people of K-P and the Pakistan Army have offered unmatched sacrifices in the war against terror; we don’t need a certificate of acknowledgement from anyone,” Hoti said.
