After Deepika and Anushka, Ileana D'Cruz opens up on struggles with depression

The 'Barfi' candidly spoke about her fight with dysmorphic disorder

Barfi star Ileana D'Cruz, who is known for her elegance and on-camera poise recently opened up about her struggles with depression and body dysmorphic disorder that she had been suffering from for the last 15 years, reported PinkVilla.

“I was shy, a self-conscious person once I hit my teens. I was constantly hit on for my body type. The obsession started when I was 15. My entire life goal was to be accepted by everyone. I never got it," Ileana shared in a recent video.

"I did not know I had body disorder. There was a period, approximately three years ago, I was completely depressed. The most comforting thought was to end things. But I realised it did not seem right," she confessed.


“Acceptance is the first step towards being a better you. I’m trying every day,” the Main Tera Hero star captioned the video.

Ileana is not the first Bollywood celeb to open up about depression. Previously, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar too have publicly shared their struggles with the disorder.

On the work front, Ileana was last seen in Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho which fared well at the box office. The movie also starred Emraan Hashmi, Esha Gupta among others.
