PU VC assures admissions on merit

Says varsity is making rapid progress in all spheres

LAHORE: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir said the varsity will ensure admissions in all disciplines strictly on the basis of merit and provide maximum facilities to candidates.

He was addressing the inauguration ceremony of admission stalls at the New Campus on Monday. Admission Committee Chairman Professor Dr Taqi Zahid Butt, Stalls Committee Chairman Professor Dr Shahid Kamal, deans of various faculties, heads of departments, faculty members and students were present on the occasion. Talking to the participants, Dr Zafar Moeen Nasir said PU was making rapid improvement in all spheres and the whole admission process would be digitized.

“We will receive online applications from candidates in order to facilitate them.” He advised teachers to pay maximum attention to the character-building of students. He said the PU administration was providing an environment on campus to promote research, academic and healthy co-curricular activities. Later, the VC visited various stalls and reviewed arrangements.

PU teachers divided over VC's appointment

Punjab University has opened admissions in BSc (Hons) BS, B.Ed, BBIT, BFA, B.Com, BBA, MA, M.Ed. MSc, MPA, MBA, MFA, M.Com (3.5 years), MIM, MIOM, MBSM Morning and Self-Supporting (Afternoon/Replica/Evening) programmes for the academic year 2017-18. The last date for submission of forms is September 28, 2017.

PU awards a PhD

The Punjab University has awarded a PhD degree to Muhammad Abrar Ahmad s/o Muhammad Bashir Khan in the subject of history after approval of his thesis entitled “Role of Migrants in Making of Modern Faisalabad 1947-1960”.
