FAISALABAD: A young man was gunned down by unidentified men in Faisalabad on Monday.

Police said Shahzad, 29, a resident of Nullay Wala, was riding a bike when unidentified motorcyclists shot him and fled the scene. As a result, he suffered multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. The police shifted the body to Civil Hospital for legal formalities. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.

Meanwhile, a man was killed in a road accident in the limits of Madina town police. Police said Munir Ahmad, a factory worker, was standing outside the factory near Dhudiwal, when a speedy motorcycle hit him. As a result, Munir died on the spot.



The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a raid and arrested a human smuggler Khalid, a resident of Shorkot. FIA officials said the accused had received Rs350,000 from a citizen Rasheed on the pretext of sending him to Dubai. But he neither sent him abroad nor returned his money.

The FIA team arrested the accused and put him behind bars for further investigation.

The police have claimed to have arrested 16 people on charge of using fireworks to celebrate marriage functions. A police spokesman said the arrested men were identified as Musaddaq Ali from Gulfishan Colony, Umair from Ghausia Chowk, Ahmad Ali, Rashid, Shakeel, Ashfaq from Raza Abad, Usman, Irfan and Arsalan etc.
