Balanced use can help Pakistan save billions
'We need to get the analysis and then apply a balanced fertiliser on the crop'
FAISALABAD:
The country can save billions of rupees by ensuring a balanced usage of fertiliser, which will not only prevent wastage but also improve productivity.
During a meeting of fertiliser model experts, it was discussed that UAF scientists have successfully introduced a fertiliser model aimed at enabling provincial farmers to get the desired yield of major crops according to soil analysis. University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar, who was also chairing the meeting, said, “We cannot apply fertiliser model of Faisalabad in Multan region as the soil texture, fertility, and analysis is entirely different from each other.”
“We need to get the analysis and then apply a balanced fertiliser on the crop,” he added. He said that the model can be accessed through internet website fertilizeruaf.pk.
