ECP finalises arrangements

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finalised all arrangements to hold by-election in NA-120 in a free, fair, transparent and peaceful manner on Sunday. Candidates of major political parties included Begum Kalsoom Nawaz from Pakistan Muslim League (N), Faisal Mir from Pakistan People's Party and Dr Yasmeen Rashid from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). An ECP representative said that the constituency has total 321,786 registered voters, out of which 179,642 were male while 142,144 were female voters. He said that in total 220 polling stations including 103 male, 98female and 19 combined polling stations had been set up for the election. 573 polling booths in total including 312 male and 261female booths had been set-up by the ECP, he added. He said that 220 Presiding Officer, 573 Assistant Presiding Officers and 573 Polling Officers would discharge their duties on the polling day. He said that seven monitoring teams had been constituted with 20 officials from Islamabad and four provinces for the by-election.
