Warning notices were issued to 98 other eateries

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued action against roadside restaurants on Friday and sealed nine eateries in Multan District.
PFA bans soft drinks at educational institutions
Besides, warning notices were issued to 98 other eateries. PFA Operations Director South Saeed Leghari, along with PFA raiding team, checked several hotels in Multan, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan districts and imposed heavy fines over unhygienic conditions and adulteration.
In addition, the PFA teams also checked 201 eateries in Multan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Vehari, Jhaniya and Mian Channu. At least nine eateries were sealed for using unhealthy ingredients and poor arrangements. The PFA teams also served improvement notices to shopkeepers in Khanewal.
PFA restricts public from re-using plastic bottles
A PFA spokesman said that action was initiated against roadside hotels for ensuring healthy food availability. He said that PFA was also creating awareness about food laws and its preservation to hotel owners and staff.
