Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday approved hydro and wind power projects to help generate more electricity.
Presiding over the cabinet meeting, Sharif sanctioned a hydro power project of 120 megawatts.
The chief minister's visit to China and the security situation in the province also came under discussion.
The cabinet approved an increase in the number of police personnel in Punjab.
Sharif also called a meeting of the annual development programme for the preparation of a strategy regarding the Punjab budget.
