Police gun down robber in Sargodha

SARGODHA: A robber was killed in an encounter with police in the jurisdiction of Jhal Chakian police station on Monday.

Police said that four armed robbers were looting people near a hotel at Lahore Road when the police reached the spot. On seeing the police, the robbers fled the scene.  However, the police chased the robbers and a shoot-out occurred near 92 Morr.  As a result, a robber identified as Fayyaz was killed on the spot while his accomplices managed to escape.



Police shifted the body to District Headquarter Hospital for legal formalities. The deceased robber was wanted to police in various cases of robbery and theft.
