Private colleges secure top positions in intermediate exams

Boys of Punjab College secure all three of the overall top positions

LAHORE:
Boys from private colleges secured most of the top positions in the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore Intermediate Part I& II (Annual) Examination 2017, while the public colleges of the province grabbed just a few positions.

BISE Lahore Chairman Prof Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, along with Controller Prof Muhammad Nasir Jamil and Secretary Rehana Ilyas, announced names of the top position holders on Monday.

The Punjab College secured all three of the overall top positions in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) annual examination. Muhammad Umer from Punjab College of Science, Ferozpur Road was declared while Minaam Farooq from the same college grabbed the overall second position. The third position was secured by Muhammad Umer Mukhtar from Punjab College for Boys. In the Pre-Engineering Group (Boys), Muhammad Umer and Muhammad Tayyab Khan from Punjab College of Science secured first and second positions respectively.

In the Pre-Engineering Group (Girls), Farheen Asif from Punjab College for Women, Muslim Town Lahore secured the first position with 1,047 marks, Mahnoor Asad and Inza Naeem Gilanee from the same college got the second and third positions respectively.

In the Pre-Medical Group (Boys), Minaam Farooq, the overall second position holder, was declared first. Muhammad Umer Mukhtar, the overall third position holder, got the second position, while Omer Naeem form Government College University (GCU) secured the third position with 1,045 marks.

In the Pre-Medical Group (Girls), Unsa Miraj from Punjab College for Girl secured the top spot, while Afra Zahid from Government Kinnaird College for Women, was declared second. Fatima Shafique from Government College for Women secured third position.


For the General Science Group (Boys), Muhammad Saad from Punjab College of Information Technology was declared first while Muhammad Ali Bhatti from GCU got the second position. Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah from Punjab College of Information Technology stood third.

3,000 private students suffer after exam postponed without prior notice

Among the General Science Group (Girls), Ayesha Naeem from Unique College for Girls was declared first, Haleema Mustafa from Punjab College for Women Mughalpura stood second. Midhat Kamran and Azka Noor both from Punjab College for Women shared the third spot.

In the Commerce Group (Boys), Awais Ahmad from Punjab College of Commerce was declared first while the second and third positions were secured by Muhammad Awais and Hamza Saleem.

For the Commerce Group (Girls), Punjab College for Women students Mahnoor Bashir stood first and Hafiza Tabinda Naeem secured the third position.

Among the Humanities Group (Boys), Muhammad Naqeeb from College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences got the first position while Muhammad Hamza from Oxford International College of Commerce stood second. Syed Salman Ahmad Bukhari from Forman Christian College secured third position.

In the Humanities Group (Girls), Sawera Liaqat from Government College for Women Nankana Sahib secured the first position. Saliha Junaid from Punjab College for Women stood second and Zara Tasneem was got third position.
