Intellectual property: Commerce minister lauds IPO’s efforts

Federal Minister for Commerce Muhammad Pervaiz Malik lauded Intellectual Property Organization’s role (IPO-Pakistan) on Monday in protecting intellectual property (IP) rights and adopting a pro-active approach in its operations.
He appreciated the IPO for striving to make Pakistan an IP-compliant country in the comity of nations. The minister expressed these views during his maiden visit to the IPO-Pakistan headquarters on Monday. The minister was welcomed by IPO-Pakistan Chairman Shahid Rashid and Director General Muhammad Irfan Tarar. While addressing the officers, the minister was full of praise for IPO’s expert and highly trained team which, he said, is materialising the goal of an IP-based nation into reality through untiring efforts.
