Basic purpose of First Aid Day is to educat community about first aid training, skills

Punjab Emergency Service (PES), Rescue 1122 on Saturday marked World First Aid Day in all districts of province by launching first responder initiative with an aim to register and train citizens through Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs).

According to Rescue-1122 spokesman, the PES Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has directed the District Emergency Officers (DEOs) to utilise trained Rescue Mohafiz and CERTs for further awareness and training of maximum citizens in all Union Councils of Punjab to achieve healthy, safer and resilient communities in the province.

The basic purpose of First Aid Day is to educate the community about first aid training and skills, he said adding, Rescue 1122 has rescued over 5.1 million victims of different emergencies after provision of first aid to the victims of different emergencies since the service was established in Punjab.

Furthermore, Community Safety Wings in all districts are working hard to train teachers as master trainers and establish CERTs at UCs level which is major organised source to further promote first aid in every institution/ home and safety culture in general.
