A recent video on the internet appears to show a three-year old toddler being forced to drink beer and smoke cigarettes by her parents. The young girl is shown visibly swaying as her parents break down in a hysterical fit of laughter in the background.

The toddler is also videotaped almost falling over, as the mother intervenes and catches her. The teenage parents, believed to be eighteen years old, have been arrested by authorities in Argentina after the video was shared on the social media and went viral.

Touchscreen use by toddlers linked to poor sleep

The parents have defended their behavior, arguing that they were not really giving their child beer or cigarettes, but only building up the scenes in the video for a joke. According to Mail Online, the little girl was also forced to smoke cannabis.

The Police Investigation Brigade, acting with the support of the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office, have taken the baby away from her parents and given the custody of the child to the grandmother.
