RCD issues notices to 20 property owners for illegal construction
Raids were conducted by the board along with officials from the building control department
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has issued notices to 20 property owners for illegal construction.
According to an RCB spokesperson, several raids had been conducted by the board along with officials from the building control department. The raids were conducted in areas along the Misrial Road, Quaid-e-Azam Colony, Peshawar Road, and Peoples Colony. The violators were served notices as part of the recently launched operation.
The spokesperson added that the ongoing operation had been accelerated after Cantonment Executive Officer Dr Saima Shah issued special instructions to crack down on illegal constructions in the garrison city.
The action, he said, has ensured greater revenue for the board as people are now regularly submitting their construction plans to get formal approval. He warned that strict action would be taken against those found violating the rules.
