A man threw his three minor daughters into a canal and committed suicide by shooting himself in the head on the jurisdiction of Chowk Azam police station in Layyah on Wednesday.
According to police, Rana Naveed Iqbal, who was a resident of ward No. 9 of Chowk Azam, worked as a teacher at a local school. He took away his daughters named Sania, Hifza and Haawia on the pretext of visiting Tale Munda Canal where he threw all of them into the canal. Later, he ended his own life. Chowk Azam police station took the pistol into custody.

The children were identified as a boy named Tayyab, 11, and four girls named Tayyabbah, 12, Tanzeela, nine, Shanzeh, eight, and Saba, six.
