Resuming work Miners protest against privatisation
PMDC employees workers union alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to privatise the state-run Sorange Coalmine.
QUETTA:
Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) employees workers union alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched to privatise the state-run Sorange Coalmine after the deadly incident which claimed the lives of 43 miners last month.
Addressing a press conference, union president Mohammad Ayub said that though there is lack of precautionary measures for the safety of miners, such incidents take place everywhere in the world and their respective governments resume mining after clearing the mine.
“We demand for reopening of Sorange coalmine because some elements want to allot this mine to a private contractor,” Ayub said.
