Save The Environment: Workshop on environmental issues held

Solid waste management, hygienic issues and importance of forestation discussed.

ISLAMABAD: On the second day of the environmental “training of trainers” workshop, solid waste management, hygienic issues and importance of forestation were discussed.

UN-HABITAT and Pakistan Institute for Environment Development Action Research (PIEDAR) organized the workshop on “Water & Environmental Sanitation & Hygiene Education in Urban Schools through Environmental clubs”.

A large number of teachers from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, PIEDAR and UN-HABITAT trainers actively participated in the introductory session.

The purpose of the workshop is to bring awareness about pollution, waste management, hygiene issues and encourage preservation of forests among students and the formation of informal environmental clubs at school level.

The concluding session of the workshop will be
held on Friday along with a certificates distribution ceremony.
