More than 16,000 police personnel and forces from specialised units to be on duty, says Siya

The Sindh police have finalised its security plan for Eidul Azha today (Saturday). More than 16,000 police personnel of Karachi police will be on security duty and additional police force from specialised units, including Special Security Unit (SSU), Sindh Reserve Police (SRP) and Rapid Response Force (RRF), will be available to augment security measures.
Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Khan Siyal has issued directives to the police to remain alert and vigilant in order to ensure security during three days of Eidul Azha. He said it was imperative to keep a check on banned outfits and not allow them to collect sacrificial hides.
"The home department has issued a code of conduct for collection of hides and has imposed section 144 to avoid any untoward incident. It is the responsibility of police to ensure security at all levels and violators to deal with according to law", he said.

Eidul Azha Security: Over 2,500 policemen to be deployed 

Karachi Additional IG, in a report submitted to the home minister, said that all arrangements have been finalised to ensure security at mosques, imambargahs and open places for Eid prayers. "Police is also ensuring coordination with the stake holders to keep peace and harmony during Eid days with special reference to hides collection ", he added.
He informed that police would be deployed at all public places, hides collection points and relevant SHOs would be responsible to maintain peace in their respective jurisdictions.

According to the report, police are ensuring security measures at about 800 hides collection camps and over 220 places for offering collective slaughtering of sacrificial animals in Karachi. "Specific instructions have been issued to police to ensure mobile and motorcycle patrolling besides random snap-checking in different areas of the city. Over 400 police mobiles and more than 200 motorcycles would be on patrolling and snap checking-duties", the report added. More than 16,000 police personnel of Karachi police would be on security duties and additional police force from SSU, SRP and RRF would be available to augment security measures.
Siyal issued directives to ensure effectiveness of the Advance Intelligence Collection Cells in proper coordination with Special Branch and Counter-Terrorism Department in order to ensure security of around over 3,100 mosques, about 200 imambargahs and more than 400 open places for Eid prayers. "Police should also ensure security at Mazars, vital installations, important buildings and all public places including recreational spots, bus stops and railway stations ", he said.

No weekly bazaars during Eidul Azha holidays

Siyal directed deployment of police commandos at all identified sensitive places and areas. "Police should ensure regular mobile and motorcycle patrolling besides random snap-checking within the city and around suburban areas", he added. He issued directives to Karachi Additional IG to establish a central control room for smooth sharing of information and timely police action whenever required.
