Ward Upgrade: Medical college hospital gets Rs400m

Four hundred million rupees have been approved to upgrade the cardiology ward at the Peoples Medical College Hospital in Nawabshah, said Medical Superintendent Dr Agha Iftikhar on Thursday.
This money will be used to provide angiographies and angioplasties.
A trauma centre will be opened by August and a CT scanner, MRI machines and a dental ward will also be added.
A new ward will be constructed with 60 beds, with a sub-ward for gynaecology.
Patients with brain tumors will be treated with the help of a Gama knife.
This machine is worth Rs700 million and at present is only available at one hospital in the Punjab.
Better sanitary conditions and heavy-duty generators were also being installed.
