LCWU comes to the fore with PhD research resource centres
Research director says students will get sufficient space for their work
LAHORE:
As many as six PhD research resource centres for 16 departments of the faculties of Social Sciences, Languages and Humanities have been established at the Lahore College for Women University (LCWU).
LCWU hopes to boost research in management sciences
LCWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Uzma Qureshi, along with Research Director Dr Shugufta Naz, inaugurated these research resource centres on Thursday.
“The purpose of these well-furnished and properly equipped centers is to promote research culture in the varsity. The first PhD centre will be available for four departments i.e. Fine Arts, Art & Design, Textile and Interior Designing,” said Dr Shugufta Naz.
LCWU all set to become a 'smart university'
The research director added that the fourth centre would facilitate departments of Education and Research and Evaluation. “One complete centre has been set up at the Institute of Leadership and Learning. The sixth and final research centre will be available for departments of Persian, Punjabi and Urdu,” she said.
Through these PhD research resource centres, graduates and post graduates students would get sufficient space and a peaceful environment to conduct their research, she added.
