DC Multan bans Eid congregations at open places

Education Department was directed to make arrangements for holding Eid congregations in schools and colleges grounds

MULTAN:
While reviewing security arrangements, the district peace committee on Thursday imposed a ban on holding of Eid congregations at open places and permitted only registered and approved organisations to collect sacrificial animals' hides.

The meeting, chaired by the deputy commissioner, directed the Education Department to make arrangements for holding Eid congregations in schools and colleges grounds. Meanwhile, the city received 12.2 millimetres rain which is a record during the current monsoon spell which will continue till Friday.

According to meteorological department, westerly waves approached the region and 30mm rain was recorded during the last 24 hours. Another rain spell has been predicted for September 4-5. Maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 27.5 and 24.8 degree centigrade, respectively.
