Punjab cabinet vows to follow in Sharif's footsteps

Says it will pay tribute to the heroic steps of former prime minister

LAHORE: The Punjab cabinet on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution vowing to leave no stone unturned to safeguard the principles of supremacy of the Constitution, development of Pakistan and public welfare following ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s footsteps.

“The meeting of the cabinet under the chair of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif pays tributes to the services of leader of Muslim League-N and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for the people and country. This meeting is of the opinion that these services of Nawaz Sharif will live forever in history,” the resolution stated.

It further said that the cabinet considers it especially important to pay tribute to the heroic steps of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif which he undertook to make Pakistan impregnable through atomic explosions and later on relieved the country of the menace of terrorism, launched CPEC and overcame the energy crisis.

“Representing the sentiments of the people of Punjab, this meeting also considers it important to state that the leader of PML-N lives in the hearts of the people of Punjab and the people have always followed Nawaz Sharif,” it added.

The MPAs stated that after relinquishing the post of the prime minister, Nawaz’s historic reception was a proof of immortal love in the hearts of the people of Punjab for him.
