LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has increased the size of the provincial cabinet once again by inducting Dr Malik Mukhtar Ahmad Bherath as a minister. After the induction of a new minister, the size of the Punjab Cabinet has swelled to 34.
Dr Bherath took the oath, which was administered by acting-Punjab Governor Rana Muhammad Iqbal, on Saturday. He is the son of former MPA Dr Malik Ijaz Ahmad Bherath. He is a medical practitioner who served as an MPA from 2002 to 2007 and 2008 to 2013.
He also functioned as a parliamentary secretary from 2006 and 2007. He returned to the Punjab Assembly for a third consecutive term after the 2013 General Elections and is functioning as the chairman of Public Account Committee-II.
