The meeting was scheduled after the Malik addressed a graduation ceremony of Coast Guards in Karachi.
While addressing the graduates, Malik stated that the presence of foreign agents operating in Balochistan is rising.
He added that smuggling is a major menace in the region and confirmed that almost five billion dollars are smuggled across the Pak-Afghan border.
He urged that the smuggling needs to be stopped immediately.
Sharjeel Memon urges stern action against target killers
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon said on Thursday that the government will take action against any group harbouring target killers.
He told a news conference in Karachi that the rising number of target killings is aimed at destabilising the government and confirmed that a number of suspected target killers have already been arrested.
Sharjeel claims some target killers are being protected by certain political parties, while others are independent hired assassins.
The information minister says stern action will be taken not only against target killers, but also against groups they are affiliated with.
The minister has also urged the police to carry out a thorough search operation in areas where target killings are reported.
Rangers official killed
A mobile snatcher shot dead a Rangers official in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area on Thursday.
Town Police Officer SP Asad confirmed that a mobile snatcher was fleeing after snatching four mobile phones when a police team led by ASI Ramzan started to chase him.
The robber haphazardly started firing at the security personnel in which a Rangers official was killed.
The police fired back at the snatcher and shot him in the leg and got hold of him near Five Star Chowk.
The arrested was identified as Javed and a pistol and the four stolen mobile phones were also recovered from his possession.
