ECP moved to stop meetings at CM house

PTI candidate says such gatherings go against polls rules

LAHORE:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) knocked on the door of the Election Commission of Pakistan (Punjab Chapter) to stop meetings and political activities, held in Raiwnid and the Chief Minister House, for the NA-120 by-poll campaign.

The battle for NA-120 is set to be a close one 

The application was submitted in ECP Punjab chapter by PTI contestant Dr Yasmeen Rashid. She said that according to the rules and regulations, it is the duty of every candidate to abide by the code of conduct after issuance of the schedule by ECP.

She alleged former PM Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were continuously conducing campaigns for candidate Kulsoom Nawaz.


Voting machines to be used in NA-120

Maryam Nawaz is conducting the election campaign of her mother Kalsoom Nawaz by holding meetings in the mentioned houses and also conducting press conferences, along with provincial food minister Bilal Yasin and MPAs Majid Zahoor and Malik Pervez Ahmed. She said this was against the rules and regulations of the election.

She requested that Maryam Nawaz and others be restrained from using the Model Town and Raiwind houses for election campaigns. She also said that proceedings must be initiated against them.
