Firefighters take two hours to extinguish blaze at oil company building
KARACHI:
A young labourer died while four others were critically injured when fire broke out at an oil company in Keamari locality on Monday.
The fire reportedly erupted at a storage tank of alcohol and spirit at alRaheem Trading Company, within the limits of Jackson police station in Keamari. According to SHO Shahid Khan, a total of five labourers received burn injuries due to the blaze who were immediately shifted to the nearby Ziauddin Hospital where one of them later succumbed to his injuries. The deceased labourer was identified as 33-year-old Ismail, son of Daud, while the injured were identified as Khan Sadiq, 59, Muhammad Junejo, 27, Muhammad Anees, 35, and Muhammad Ramzan, 27.
SHO Khan added that the fire broke out with a loud bang when the labourers were cleaning the tank. However, the actual cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained, he said.

Following the incident, firefighters reached the site and succeeded in dousing the fire after at least two hours. No case has been registered as the police termed the fire eruption an accident.
