7 gamblers sent on a judicial remand

Counsels submitted that the accused had been implicated in a forged case merely to humiliate and blackmail them

LAHORE: A judicial magistrate sent seven accused on a 14-day judicial remand for their alleged involvement in a case of gambling.

Shahdra police produced the accused before the magisterial courts where the investigation officers submitted that the accused persons were caught red-handed gambling at a house. The officials said that they conducted a raid when an informer who claimed the accused were gambling on the spot.

Police apprehend 13 gamblers 

The counsels submitted that the accused had been implicated in a forged case merely to humiliate and blackmail them and they had nothing to do with this case. They said that the police arrested them just to show their efficiency rather than controlling crime in the city. However, the judge sent the accused persons on a  judicial remand.
