HYDERABAD:
The Matiari district's police nominated 13 women among 34 persons in an FIR for allegedly assaulting the police and snatching a police weapon during a raid at a village on Saturday.

Sections of Anti-Terrorism Act and Anti-Narcotics Act have also been included in the FIR. Complainant in the FIR, ASI Abdul Kareem Dahiri alleged that the nominated persons attacked the police while resisting a raid for the arrest of a suspected female drug peddler, Sahibdini Maachi. According to the complainant, the villagers not only prevented the arrest of Sahibdini but also snatched an AK-47 rifle from the police.

The clash left the ASI injured who was allegedly beaten with wooden sticks and bricks. After the incident, SSP Syed Imdad Ali Shah conducted another raid at the village and recovered the weapon. However, the suspects involved in assaulting the police, including Sahibdini, had escaped.
