Woman killed as high tension wire falls over vehicle
Deceased was travelling in rickshaw when 11,000 KV wire fell

A California-based woman, who was visiting Mirpurkhas district to attend post-funeral rites of her parents, died after getting electrocuted while travelling in a rickshaw.
The incident took place when an 11,000 kilovolt (KV) wire fell on the vehicle on Police Lines road on Friday. The brother of the deceased, Ahmed Mughal, said that her sister was on her way to the market to buy some items.
According to her brother, both the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company and administration of the Civil hospital are responsible for her death.
Woman electrocuted to death
"She was not given timely emergency medical care. The hospital was not even giving us an admission slip until after our protest," he told the local media, adding that an FIR will be lodged against both the officials concerned of HESCO and the hospital.
Civil surgeon of the hospital, Dr Anwar Palari, claimed that the woman was brought dead to the hospital and that no family members, who are accusing the hospital, accompanied her.
This is the second incident of deaths caused by an 11,000 KV high tension wire. On August 20, two persons were killed and five were critically injured when an 11,000 KV wire struck a mini truck in Hyderabad's Hali road area. The aggrieved family lodged an FIR against the officials of HESCO but no arrests have been made so far.
