'Development works in NA-120 violating laws’
PML-N had failed to improve the lives of common man even in their own constituencies, said PTI candidate
LAHORE:
The ruling party has initiated development works in NA-120 after announcement of by-elections and this is a sheer violation of Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) rules, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) candidate in the constituency Dr Yasmin Rashid.
She was speaking to a select group of journalists during her electioneering campaign in NA-120 on Tuesday.

“According to ECP laws, no political party can carry out development projects after announcement of election schedule,” she said. The PTI candidate said she felt as if she was contesting by-elections in NA-120 against the Punjab government instead of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. She added that the Punjab government had opened the mouth of the public kitty for pre-poll rigging.”
Criticising the ruling party, she said that people were tired of the Sharifs who were continuously deceiving the public and safeguarding their interest. Even after being declared disqualified by the Supreme Court they were still lying to nation. She said that the ruling party was in power in Punjab for almost three decades but it had failed to improve the lives of common man even in their own constituencies.
She added that during PML-N rule the issues like inflation, corruption and unemployment have been multiplied. Dr Rashid said the PTI was committed to eliminating corruption from the country and had gained public support. The NA-120 by-election would be an eye-opener for the corrupt rulers.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) candidate Faisal Mir also underlined that it had always remained the strategy of the ruling party to use public money and state machinery to achieve desired election results. “Same strategy is being used in NA-120 by-elections but now public is well aware about the PML-N performance.”
Mir said that the Punjab government was spending heavily on development schemes to rig NA-120 by-polls otherwise it did not spend a single penny in former prime minister’s constituency.
