ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court on Monday announced that Zilhaj moon was not sighted anywhere in the country, Eidul Azha will be celebrated in all Gulf countries on September 1.
According to a tweet by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the court will hold another meeting on Tuesday to issue a decision regarding the moon.
The tweet which was in Arabic read:
# Supreme Court : The view of Hilal al- Dhajja is not proven tonight, and the court will hold a hearing tomorrow evening and issue a decision to prove it. #SPA

The sighting of Zilhaj crescent will decide the Waqoof-e-Arafat, the climax of Hajj pilgrimage, and subsequently the Eidul Azha.

Meanwhile, the central moon-sighting committee of Pakistan will be meeting to sight the Zilhaj moon on Tuesday.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department Dr Ghulam Rasul said "there is a 30 to 40 per cent chance that the moon will be sighted on August 22".
If moon will be sighted on August 22, then Eidul Azha will be celebrated on September 1, and if not, it will be celebrated on the following day, he added.
