Three unidentified, bullet-ridden bodies have been found near the Northern Bypass police checkpost in the metropolis on Monday. The bodies of the victims, aged between 30 to 35, were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
According to police, a pamphlet bearing a message from the militant group Ansar-ul-Sharia Pakistan was found at the crime scene. In the pamphlet, the group took responsibility for the killings saying it was revenge against the killings of innocent police volunteers.
Two policemen killed in the line of duty laid to rest
A few days ago, two police volunteers were targeted in the same area during which one of the volunteers was killed while another was wounded.
The investigation officials have started probing the matter.
On August 17, two policemen lost their lives in separate incidents in the port city. The policemen were shot dead in separate incidents – one was killed in a targeted attack on the Northern Bypass, while the other lost his life while attempting to foil a robbery bid in Ferozabad.
