The viral video shows mother scolding and slapping the child who appears to be just three or four years old
A viral video of a child, who appears to be just three or four years old, being scolded and slapped, presumably by the mother, during a math lesson has drawn the ire of social media users.
The child constantly pleading the mother to stop followed by the slaps and the expressions on the face - that of anger and frustration as well as helplessness - compelled many Facebook and Twitter users to speak out on the issue of child abuse, even if it's at the hands of someone as close as the child's mother.

Social media users both in Pakistan and India vented out their feelings after watching the video. Many say that hitting children to make them study can psychologically dent them for life. However, some social media groups as shared the video labelling it "funny", indifferent to the horror being suffered by the child.
In fact, even Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and Shikar Dhawan could not hold back and expressed their views on their Instagram and Twitter accounts.
