Female embroidery expert from Quetta defies all odds to develop her own business worth over one million rupees.

Gender bias and social taboos may block the path to success for most women in our society, but a female embroidery expert from Quetta defied all odds to develop her own business worth over one million rupees.
Aziz Kausar Baji Quetta Wali was just an embroiderer who used to work for others to make a living. The craftswoman, who started her business with Rs 30,000 a few years ago, now boasts of a business volume of up to Rs1 million.
She attributed her success to hard work, honesty and commitment. In an interview with APP, she said she started embroidery a few years ago when her husband suffered a heart attack to ensure a living for the family.
“It was tough, until I witnessed an exhibition organised by SMEDA, Quetta. The exhibition and rush of consumers inspired me to launch my own business,” she added.
